The natives from Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta shared with me about
recapitulation, confession and self-checking, practicing “Thought Medicine”. This
practices consist for me(in few words) in going back in time with awareness and bring
the unbalance past situation into the present moment, to reveal with
consciousness the lesson behind it.
Now, the Mhuysqa elder’s advice is to do it
every night, they said that by "harvesting" in the night, everything you need to improve, before
going to bed, you can wake up in the morning as a new person. It is important to
know that this practice is about you, and not about the other. It’s a practice
to reveal the pattern and the archetype that you are reproducing.
Sometimes our behavior with our friends, lover, and family is connected with the history of our
linage. So, if you feel the call, after doing the recapitulation,
you can open the space for talking with the person about the nectar (the
lesson) of your relationship and share as a confession any realization that you have about yourself.
It’s true for me, that the more we practice how to see ourselves thru the other,
more we can accept and let the other BE.
I started to put into practice this “thought medicine” for my personal
relationships and it has been wonderful, because it helps me to see that everything
that happens in the relationship it’s something that I create. Sometimes we are
merge in our own things, projects, hobbies, and we forget that around us there
are other sensitive beautiful beings.
I realize this when I find out that our
dog negro was sick, he was acting weird but nobody pay attention to him, like
real attention, you know, so, after few days he died, it was too late when we choose to put our
attention to him. I was so angry and sad with myself for being in my “priorities” … I
felt like I was blind… and sometimes we are blind about what is
happening in our relationships.
Every being is a
flower! A precious and delicate flower. Let’s take care of our garden!
